18.06.08 - RAY 70 years
RAY, Finland’s Slot Machine Association, began operations on 1 April 1938. To celebrate its 70th anniversary, RAY will be making appearances at a number of events this summer all over Finland. The tour will start at the Puistoblues music festival in Järvenpää on 26 June and will finish up in Rautatientori Square next to the main railway station in Helsinki on 16 August.
The road show will include a presentation of RAY’s gaming operations and its funding of Finnish health and welfare organisations. Visitors will be able to see the new “Pajatso” games and find out about how the ePayment system works. The events will also include organisations that receive help from RAY, such as the Finnish Red Cross, the Finnish Heart Association and the Finnish Diabetes Association. These organisations will present an overview of the work they do and how the proceeds from gaming are used. There will be about 10 different organisations participating in the events in Pori and Helsinki.
Joining the tour will be top Finnish musical performers Jenni Vartiainen, Maarit Hurmerinta, Eino Grön and Jean S. as well as Anneli Mattila. The road show events will be hosted by Sari Siikander and Lauri Salovaara. Entry to the RAY road show is free of charge except in Vaasa, Oulu and Jyväskylä, where there is a charge for admission to the venue.
